Home/Public School

I am a firm believer that you are your child's first teacher! And even if you don't home school, you can still be your child's first teacher. Your family may have found that public/private school is the best option for your family. Or you simply can't be a home school mom for various reasons. Christ leads each family on different paths towards the same destination, His righteousness! Their is no perfect way, just what fits perfectly for your family. But you can still incorporate some of the benefits of homeschooling into your child's education after school, and during breaks. Their are several reasons to add home school for those that would love to.
  1. Add to what your children learn and when they learn it.
  2. Show your children that learning is not boring, but exciting.
  3. Tailor your teaching to fit your children's dominant learning styles.
  4. Give your children in-depth, personal attention in any subject with which they struggle or excel.
  5. Create a weekly schedule that fits your needs and allows you to do things without the constraint of a traditional classroom schedule.
  6. Transfer your values and beliefs to your children and address their questions when they have them.
  7. Teach more effectively by interacting with your children 1-on-1.
  8. Nurture your children's natural (musical, artistic, mathematic) talents so they thrive and grow.
  9. Share the joy of teaching your children with your spouse.
  10. Take vacations during the school year and make them educational.
If your children attend school, the best part comes when homework is done, you can now start some lessons of your own. What I love about this part is you can now let the child's interests flourish and grow! You may want to study scripture,  math practice to increase ability, reading classics together, learn a new language, music class, essay writing, explore science experiments, etc... You can even schedule field trips to the science center so your child can get hands on experience with theories, art gallery to gain an artistic perspective, museums to see history unfold, or even a zoo to see and hear animals. My family has benefited from partnering both styles in our home and my children have flourished tremendously from it! I personally teach; scripture memorization, dance, french, science projects, reading books to enhance reading level, math practice, writing for my pre school-er, etc....The possibilities are endless!

Not only will your child be ahead of the lessons at school, they will also get special attention with mom while learning at their own pace and what they are interested in. Your child's learning ability can be limitless when they are shown "Love while Learning". No one will love and teach your child better than you can. So take advantage of the opportunity to share this time with your family. I know you and your child will both benefit from it!

what i dislike is when a child that goes to public school, there parents think there learning is done so they can have a break, I disagree on this,I feel it is our duty as parents to keep teaching a child even on breaks, rather it be life education like nature walks etc.
