Greed

Did you know that you can actually have greed, even though you haven't spent any thing. Greed starts in the wanting, long before you receive. If you spend your time wanting bigger and better, then you are showing greed. Be blessed with what God has given you already. Take pleasure in the things that are worth far more than new money and material things. God, Love, Laughter, Family, Friends, etc...

Have you ever taken the time to differentiate between what you want and what you need? Needs are necessities, whereas wants are anything above that. For instance you need, water, food, shelter, clothing, etc... You want the latest phone even though you have a perfectly good one already, a newer vehicle, when the one you have still runs very good. Yet another game system because it's the next big item this year. etc...

Christ gave more than He received. I'm working on having a heart more after Him. My focus is going to be more about celebrating what I have, instead of coveting what I wish I had.

Great post. I have this conversation with my children all the time...and sometimes with myself.

We all need to focus on what we have rather than what we don't have. After all, isn't that the sin that started all in that garden...greed for that which was forbidden?

Blessings,
Michelle
