Anger Management

It never ceases to amaze me, how much anger can disrupt people's lives. One moment of anger can cause you a lifetime of pain. For example if you hurt someone physically, that's a crime. If you cheat on a spouse that made you mad, now you have broken up an entire family. Broken things that you have to pay to replace etc... Even small things can cause big hurt on your life. Like holding anger in and having suicidal thoughs. Because the pain is so great you feel your only escape is to end your life. It can cause illnesses like high blood pressure and all sorts of health issues.

Anger:
Anger is an emotional state that may range from minor irritation to intense rage. The physical effects of anger include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline.

Proverbs15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Ecclesiates 7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Let's talk about spiritual concequences. You are blocking God's blessings whenever you hold on to anger. The devil is behind anything not of God. Anger and wrath is not a fruit of the spirit of God. The fruit of God's spirit should always be on display. We should walk as Jesus did, who was sent on this earth to be an example.

Galatians 5:22-23 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance

I under stand that anger is a natural and necessary emotion. We are conditioned to experience a wide range of emotions in our lives. It is common to experience anger at some point. It's what we do when we are angry that can potentially cause hurt and pain. We should strive to not let our emotions become actions.

James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

One major problem that can result from not controlling your anger is it can transform into bitterness. Bitterness is a state of being angry, not merely for a moment, but it has become a way of life.

Bitterness:
1)The quality or state of being bitter, sharp, or acrid, in either a literal or figurative sense; implacableness; resentfulness; severity; keenness of reproach or sarcasm; deep distress, grief, or vexation of mind.

2)A state of extreme impiety or enmity to God.

3)Dangerous error, or schism, tending to draw persons to apostasy.

It's an aweful life to go day in and day out drowing in anger and becoming a bitter person. Jesus is life! When we walk with Him, our lives have significant meaning. It is only when we sucumb to our flesh, that we are overtaken by our wrath and bitterness. Then the devil has his way with our lives and possibly our future. The devil is a liar and will use any tools neccessary to push you away from favor with God. Even making things appear more than what they really are, to cause a reaction of wrath.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Be strong in the Lord, stand fast and be still. Keep your mind focuesed the scriptures. The word comforts in times of anger and hurt. The promices of our Lord can combat any evil thought that the devil tried to throw your way. Let the Holy spirit guide you through times of anger, and rest in the arms of your heavenly Father.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:17 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

One way that you can help get rid of anger, before it sets into your spirit as bitterness, is to practice forgivness. Let go of any offense that you may have against another and let your soul flourish. You cant receive the blessings of God, if you have ill-will toward another of His children. Jesus even forgave those that pursecuted and ultimately ended His life of this world.

Forgiveness:
The act of forgiving; the state of being forgiven; as, the forgiveness of sin or of injuries.

Matthew 6:14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

I understand that change is hard. So, let's enter into the practice of prayer for this change to take effect. Prayer truly does change things. God is always willing to help His children resist the enemy. How long do you think you will be able to stay angry, while praying for someone. Pray to learn to forgive and pray for those who need forgiving. No matter what, God can help you walk with Him. Put aside anger, which can hinder blessings, because in the presence of Jesus is peace!

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

What a wonderful post. I have learned this lesson the hard way. Another horrible manifestation of anger is our words. Once they are "out" there is no way to take them back. I regret so many things I have said.

Have a blessed day!

I do agree. I had to learn the hard way about anger. And words cannot be taken back. They hurt worse and last longer than other violence. I pray that this message touches the heart of many ladies of Christ to be aware of how anger can destroy families.
