After wearing dresses/skirts only the entire week. I noticed I felt more feminine. I carried myself in a softer more elegant manner. I even sat and walked with grace at all times, being mindful that I was wearing a dress. It was something about it that reminded me of my feminine nature at all times. I did feel very gentle and modest as well. The Holy Spirit has really begun a work in me about being more feminine and modest for His sake. My husband even noticed and really liked how "sweet and lovely" he says I looked to him. So, if hubby is happy, then that just makes it all the more special. I will have to invest in more flowing dresses/skirts for the summer. Mainly because I really liked the way I felt in them and the way my husband looked at me in them as well. Even at work, my female co-workers were saying how they wanted to wear more dresses because I looked so elegant and lady-like. I was able to give them my testimony on how I never wore skirts and how God is changing me toward modesty. My children even commented on how pretty I looked everyday. My girls want to get in on the dresses only idea too. I will have to wear them more often since it's getting this kind of reaction from people. Maybe not all the time, but I definitely will incorporate them more in me and my girls wardrobe from now on. Thanks so much to The Faithful Fashionista and Feelin Feminine for hosting this 7 day challenge this week. It literally is changing lives and I am truly grateful for this experience. I also had so much fun!
I've been so inspired by the Holy Spirit to start a weekly meme called Feminine Friday. It is based on 1 Peter 3:3-5, which is a scripture based on the appearance of women. Once a week, we will link up with your pics or posts on modesty and being feminine.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

Wow, you found some really good thrift store buys! This was interesting to hear how your family and others reacted to your weak of dresses. And, you did love lovely.
You look beautiful! Thanks for sharing your pictures with all of us! I am amazed at all of the cute things you found at the thrift store. Way to go!

Oh, I love your desses-week! A few years ago I stardet out like you did now...and now I don't even own a pair of trowsers anymore. I love dresses! Even during cold winters I wear them (thick skirt, unterskirt of nylon, cotton pantyhoses and boots)with a long woolen coat. You realy wil get used to it. Like you, I also wear many clothes from thrift stores...overhere skirts are 2 euro's only! I always like it when people ask me 'where did you buy that elegant skirt?' and I honestly have to say 'at the salvation army', you should have seen their faces haha! I decidet to become a folower of your blog, hope that you like to take a look at mine too. (although I am not at pictures my self there).
Greetings from the Netherlands, mama lieveheersbeestje.
what a unique idea! I love it!
You look sooo pretty, of course your family would notice! I might have to consider this idea. I am sooo NOT a dress up gal but I have seen so many of the long dresses out that I love, if only I didn't have these hips and short legs ugh! Oh well.
Thanks for sharing and happy you had so much fun!
THanks so much for all the compliments. You guys really make a girl feel great...lol But it is a work in progress. I'm sooo not a dressy girl, but this has made me feel more comfortable with them.
You look great in every one of those outfits!
Girl, you blessed me today. Reading your post I was so thankful to see how this challenge has impacted your family. I'm so glad that people are seeing that this challenge isn't just about fashion...it really does have a profound impact to dress femininely in a world that wants us to be like men.
Thank you so much for sharing your opinions of the challenge on this post.
God bless!
Kristin

I was raised COGIC and have always felt that a "dresses only" wardrobe was bondage. I saw women just putting anything on for the sake of saying they were wearing a dress, but I notice that none of your outfits looks frumpy, but all carefully coordinated.
I just may have to give it a try!
Blessings!
i went dresses only a few years ago and i love it! my fav of your outfits is number 1- looks like something i would wear :) (my mailing address is.... lol lol )
Wow, I just found your Blog and I have to say I am in awe of the awesomeness of our Lord! I am going to pray about this and about doing FF.
Thank You
Blessings
