$10 Laundry Room redo

I've been really wanting to redo my laundry room. Maybe it's because I'll feel more "inspired" to do laundry. Hey, whatever helps right...

 Here is where I started...

nothing exciting...

I knew I didn't want to spend much or do any time consuming repairs for now. I just stuck to quick fixes, to give it fresher update...

I made a trip to the Dollar Tree and bought a small hamper, black rug, shelf liner, 3 metal suns, and black wire basket totaling $7. Then I had to go to the Family Dollar because D.T. was out of flower baskets. F.D. was out too, but had flower basket stands. So, I got 2= $2. Using what I already had my laundry room total was a whooping $9!!!

Here is what I did...

used these 2...
 to make this...

spray painted all these black...

reused my stash...
 to create these...

free book page decor...

 Here is where I finished...

yeaaah happy dance...

basket for socks/underwear only from D.T....

labels made from Microsoft Word on book paper,
attached with packaging tape...

can you believe these are creamer bottles...

washing board painted white,
wash dry fold frame, and
large clothespin on display...

spray painted suns...

new refurb light fixture...

more Microsoft Word framed art,
shelf paper, and DIY projects...

painted vase, paper tissue ball, and
DIY paper ball display...

Sticking to my low cost, low work budget paid off.
All for under $10!!

DT tile mirror~DIY

Ever since my picture was broken in the stairway of my home, I've been on the look out for a cheap thrifty alternative. I finally found what I was looking for at my ole trusty Dollar Tree!! I found some 8 1/2X11 mirrors for $1 each and got to work.

This is what I started with...

I laid them out on the floor how I wanted,
As you can see, I had a little help

I positioned the mirrors the way I wanted...

Got out my duck tape and taped it up...

 Here is the final product...

I loved how it turned out and was even more impressed with the price
of eight dollars for eight mirrors...Gotta love dollar tree!!!

DIY bracelet holder

I have accumulated several bracelets over the last month and had no idea where to store them. I'm not a bracelet person, per se, but my part time job requires a lot of accessories.... So, I had to get cheap creative to make a home for them. I went looking for what I already had and got to work!!

a candle holder and bamboo place mat...

glue the bamboo to the candle holder...

add wire to the second tier
and a bow to dress it up a little...

FINISHED!!!

Just added my bracelets and still room to grow.
The base can also be used to hold wrap and clasp watches/bracelets too.

Fall Candleholder

I love thanksgiving!! It is a time to reflect on what we are truly thankful for. I love lighting a candle when we gather for dinner. So I used my stash to create this little fall candle holder. The best part of it is it was completely free!! You all know free is so me!

I started with a glass cup and candlestick.

Glue the bottom to the glass cup

 Position and let dry overnight.

Now to add the candle.

You didn't think that was all did you?
Of course I had to embellish it!

This will look so beautiful lit at my table with our feast,
surrounded by love and candlelight.

DT recipe book holder

I made my own recipe book with a simple 3 ring binder, sheet protectors and printable blank recipe sheets. I absolutely love it! The pages never get messy because the sheet protectors and I can write in all of my moms famous recipes. But, I had a little problem. I hated the fact that I couldn't see the recipes with the book laying on the counter. I had to keep picking it up to read with sticky fingers. I knew I could buy a recipe holder, but I wanted to make my own for free. Cause free is so me!!!

A Dollar Tree plate holder I already had on hand

Is now a recipe holder for my books

I had several of these I had gotten from Dollar Tree that I keep for decorating and they turned out to be great for several things.

My daughter plays piano and they are great for holding her sheet music also.

Scarpbook Art

I had a great week fall cleaning and organizing my home! While clearing out the clutter, I got an idea for some leftover scrap paper. I made an easy piece of art for my stairway. And the best part about cleaning is finding treasures to create decor for FREE!

a mirror, scrapbook paper and
1/2 water 1/2 glue
This took less than three minutes to create.

I'm so glad I have a free way to dress up my stairs!!

jewelry holder

Over the years, I've come to aquire a few pieces of costumn jewelry.
Now my collection has grown far more than what my jewelry box could hold. So, I started looking around the house for some things I could use to make a holder out of for free.

I started with a collection of mixed glass...

got my trusty hot glue gun...

then started attaching the pieces together...

I added velcro for added support for the
top half that detached from the bottom...

 I went from this...

 to this...

one place for my rings, brooches, and bracelets.
the top comes off to get the bracelets...

Here is where I store it...

Not only is it organized, but it looks pretty too on display.
Problem solved and no money spent. Free is so me!!!
